About Runsite

Runsite is a deployment platform built for indie developers, freelancers, and small teams. We run the infrastructure so you can focus on writing code and shipping products.

The platform offers web services, managed PostgreSQL and Redis databases, S3-compatible object storage, and scheduled cron jobs — everything a modern web application needs, in one place, at predictable prices.

What we stand for

Built for indie developers

Runsite is designed for solo developers and small teams who want to focus on building products, not managing servers. No YAML configs, no AWS console, no DevOps expertise required.

European infrastructure

All servers are located in the European Union. Your data never leaves EU borders. GDPR compliance is built in on every plan, and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available at no extra cost upon request.

Transparent pricing

No per-seat fees, no egress charges, no hidden costs. You pay for the resources your app actually uses, and spending limits ensure you never get a surprise bill.

Free tier with no cold starts

No credit card required. Web services and static sites have no time limit: active apps stay warm with zero cold starts, and containers only sleep after 14 days without any traffic, waking on the next request. Free databases run for 30 days before they need a paid plan, which keeps cluster capacity available for projects that are actually live.

Who Runsite is for

Runsite is a European hosting platform, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a marketing line. Every server, database, backup, and object sits in Frankfurt, Germany. That makes the platform a good answer for some teams and the wrong answer for others, so here is the honest version of both.

A good fit if

  • You are based in the EU or EEA — or in the UK or Switzerland — and want your infrastructure under European jurisdiction.
  • Your users are mostly in Europe, so a Frankfurt region sits close to them.
  • You handle EU personal data and need GDPR residency with a signed DPA, without a sales call or an upcharge.
  • You want euro pricing, hourly billing, and a hard spending limit instead of an invoice you find out about later.
  • You are a solo developer, freelancer, or small team shipping a product rather than running a platform team.

Probably not for you if

  • You need low latency for users in North America, Asia, Africa, or Latin America. Frankfurt is our only region, and round-trip times from other continents show it.
  • You need multi-region failover, global edge deployment, or data replicated across continents.
  • You need billing in a currency other than the euro, or data stored outside the EU.
  • You are hunting for the cheapest hosting on the market. We optimise for predictable bills and EU residency, not for the lowest sticker price.

You do not have to be an EU company to sign up. Customers elsewhere are welcome where we can lawfully serve them, and their data stays in the EU either way. We do not serve countries or territories under comprehensive EU, UN, UK, or US sanctions, or anyone designated on an applicable sanctions list — the full terms are in Section 5 of our Terms of Service.
